Terms of Service

Anglo Tutors is a directory. We publish tutor profiles and make it easy for families to find and contact tutors directly. We are not a tutoring agency, employment service, or school: tutors listed on the site are independent providers, not our employees, contractors, or agents. We do not arrange, supervise, attend, monitor, vet, endorse, or take responsibility for lessons or the conduct of any tutor or family. Anglo Tutors is not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any user of the site, whether the user is a tutor or a family. You acknowledge and agree that any interactions with other users, including but not limited to lessons, communications, and meetings, are entirely at your and your family’s own risk, and Anglo Tutors shall have no liability whatsoever in connection with such interactions.

The decision to engage a tutor, and all responsibility for that engagement, is yours alone. You release Anglo Tutors from any and all claims, demands, or damages arising out of or relating to your interactions with any tutor. We strongly recommend that you speak with any tutor before starting, check references, and remain present or nearby during lessons with minors, whether in person or online.

The Verified badge means our team reviewed the tutor's academic degrees, teaching certificates, or specialist licenses and found them consistent with the profile. It is a document check only: it is not a criminal background check, a character reference, or a guarantee of quality, safety, or results. Profiles without the badge have not completed any document review.

Lessons, scheduling, rates, and payment are arranged directly between you and the tutor. We are not a party to that relationship and do not process lesson payments.

Everything on your profile and application must be accurate and yours. Misrepresenting credentials, experience, or identity results in permanent removal from the directory, without refund.

Listing on the directory is a paid membership billed at the rates shown on the site. Membership renews automatically: payment is collected each billing period from the card you save with our payment processor, and a receipt is emailed to you for every charge. Card details are entered on and held by the processor's secure payment page; we never see or store your card number.

We may offer free or discounted periods (for example, founding-member months or an introductory trial). Nothing is charged during a free period. If you save a card during one, the exact amount and the date of your first charge are shown to you at that moment, and billing begins automatically only when the free period ends; if no card is saved by then, your listing simply isn't renewed.

You can cancel at any time by emailing hello@anglotutors.com. Cancellation takes effect immediately for future billing: your saved card is removed, no further charges are made, and your profile stays live until the end of the period you've already paid for. Charges already made for a started billing period are not refunded. We may decline or remove any listing at our discretion, including for conduct that harms families, other tutors, or the directory's trustworthiness; in that case, unused paid time is refunded pro-rata unless removal was for misrepresentation or misconduct.

You are an independent provider. You are solely responsible for your own taxes, invoicing, insurance (including professional liability insurance), and legal compliance, including obtaining and maintaining any permits, clearances, or certifications required by applicable law for working with minors. You represent and warrant that you will comply with all applicable child protection laws and regulations.

Don't scrape the directory, harvest contact details, submit false applications or messages, upload content you don't have rights to, or use the site for anything unlawful. We may block access for misuse.

The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anglo Tutors, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates are not liable for the conduct, qualifications, or services of any tutor or family, for the outcome of any lesson, for any personal injury, death, property damage, or emotional distress arising from any interaction between users, or for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Our total aggregate liability for any claimand all claims related to the site is limited to the membership fees actually paid to us in the twelve months before the first event giving rise to the claim, and for families, who use the site at no charge, to ₪100.

Tutors keep ownership of the content they upload (photos, flyers, descriptions) and grant us a license to display it on the site and in promotional previews (for example, when a profile is shared). The site's own design, text, and branding are ours.

We may update these terms; material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means acceptance.

These Terms of Service will be governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any claim, whether based on contract, tort or other legal theory (including, but not limited to, any claim of fraud or misrepresentation), arising out or relating to these Terms of Service, including its interpretation, performance, breach or termination, shall be finally and exclusively resolved by arbitration conducted in Jerusalem, Israel, in the English language in accordance with the Israeli Arbitration Act -1968, by a sole arbitrator to be appointed by the parties and in absence of agreement within fourteen (14) days, the arbitrator shall be appointed by the Chairman of the Israel Bar Association. The arbitrator shall abide by these provisions and the substantive law (however the arbitrator shall be relieved from compliance with procedural law and rules of evidence). The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding upon the parties, provided however, that a party may petition a court of competent jurisdiction to: (i) vacate the arbitrator's award or decision on the grounds of the arbitrator's failure to abide by these provisions, or (ii) seek preliminary or final injunctive or other equitable relief. Judgment on the award or any other final or interim decision rendered by the arbitrator may be entered, registered or filed for enforcement in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The consent of the parties to these provisions shall be deemed to constitute an arbitration agreement between the parties pursuant to the Israeli Arbitration Law 5728-1968. Without derogating from the above, any proceedings or actions arising out of or in connection herewith shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jerusalem, Israel.
